Description: Serial # 50141. The watch number is on the inside case the dial and the movement there is a 100% probability that the case is original to the movement. Front and back hinged we have English Chester hallmarks for sterling silver on the outside and inside case and on the ring knob! Winds adjusts with the same vintage key. The dial is excellent hands good thick glass crystal good, really a nice example a lot of these have been knocked around this one has been cared for. Nice decoration on the back we have a small ding on the back everything else is in good shape. The chronograph part comes with the slider knob on the inside rim that stops the second hand not exactly high tech but back then this was considered a cool innovation and these watches became the thing to have. The outer dial has 300 divisions I really dont understand how this works and where the deciaml part comes in who knows?! Just a cool example big 18s sized bulky heavy multiple hinged just a very cool watch. OK does it run? Well I had it running pushing on the winder that's for sure kinda gave it an incentive to go. The wild card is this brass adjuster on the inside rim moves a bracket thing that locks the second hand so you can stop and start the second hand ergo chronometer. This knob is stiff and I just gave it a really good push to open it and now the watch is running just fine on its own will for a few minutes it stops and when encouraged to run again will run for a few minutes once more. When you get the watch let it run for a while before playing with the stop knob, having said all this the watch seems 'overwound' is not winding hopefully we will get it wound down by the time you get it. So is the watch running??? I would say yes with some qualifications. I can't have anyone coming back at me with the condition of this so sold with no warranty.
