Repro of 1926 cover of Saturday Evening Post Santa at the Globe stocking EVC

Description: Reproduction of 1926 cover of Saturday Evening Post in needlepoint stocking. Norman Rockwell’s 12/4/1926 SEP cover was called “Santa at the Globe” (aka “Good Boys”.) It is a colorful piece; the front is made from wool yarns accented in areas with gold metallic threads. The lining looks to be, perhaps, batiste in a bright red that coordinates with the red velvet backing. I believe this is mass-produced and, unfortunately, not done quite as painstakingly as an individual would have, you can see an area where stitches were missed but, it doesn’t look too noticeable. (Please see pictures.) Santa is looking for “whose naughty and nice” before he delivers his gifts. The Origin: Made in China. Approx. dimensions: 21” diagonally from upper left to end of toe, 7” across upper portion tapering to 6” and into the toe. There is a 3 ½” velvet hanger. Weighs: 5.3 oz. Condition/care: Very nice condition although a few stitches were missed. Was recently dry cleaned (Dryell) and is ready to fill with goodies. From a climate controlled, smoke- and pet-free environment.
