Known as Silver Certificates, these notes were backed by an equivalent dollar amount of silver deposited into the U.S. Treasury, and was payable to the bearer upon demand for the note's face value in the precious metal. Their attractive designs and the allure of silver have made Silver Certificates one of the most popular types of U.S. paper money to collect. According to Federal Law and EBAY Policy reproduction notes are printed on two separate sheets of paper. The front (obverse) is printed on one sheet and the back (reverse) is printed on another sheet. The word "COPY" is printed on the back of each sheet of paper. The two sheets can be displayed back to back in a sleeve or album page giving the appearance of a complete note without "COPY" showing.
