Description: This is a chance to get a WW1 Military Timepiece the Model 36 Size Chronometer with the original Huge Silver Case . The movement is a Hamilton 36 Size made in 1916-1919 in Lancaster, Pa, for the War effort. It winds and sets with the button by the crown and the Wind Indicator on the dial works .The serial number is 1260409 and Hamilton only had one run of these 1260001-1260970. The 1st 500 were sold in these huge Silver Cases and are sometimes referred as Torpedo Boat watches. The run of 1260001-500 were made between 1916-1918 accord to Hamilton Finishing records the run of 1260501-970 were sold in Gimbled Boxes as late as 1943. The silvered Double Sunk dial is clean and is in great shape,without any scratches with the wind indicator at the top. It has Like New Blue shiny hands and a clear beveled glass crystal The massive Sterling Silver Case is 69mm wide. The watch weighs 277.1 grams. The case was made by the Crescent Watch Case Co. The watch is in great condition from what i can tell. I think it could even be cleaned up very easily to make it look even better but i am not a watch person and do not want to attempt to do anything to it that could cause harm. I think it looks and functions perfectly as-is. Look at all the pictures and ask any questions you have before purchasing. I am using the Make Offer option also.
