Description: A beautiful, collectible and desirable mezuzah case with a story to tell. Made sometime between the 1950s-1960s by Yemenite silversmiths who were new immigrants to Israel. The Yemenite community was initially settled in camps where they stayed for months or years. One silversmith name Yemeni travelled to the different camps and petitioned silversmiths to produce items that could be sold at tourist shops on consignment. They new immigrants melted their silver in order to produce these new wares, and they sold very well on the market. This is one of those pieces, filled with meaning and Jewish history.
