Description: Here is a Starrett No. 659 heavy-duty magnetic base with a Starrett No. 25-441 1" dial indicator that are inexcellent condition. These tools have worked very well together. They has been used so you will find a few minor cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will hinder thier usefulness. In the last photo I point out that the previous owner scribed his/her favorite numbers on the side of this magnetic base. I have camouflaged it with a black paint marker. Also, the paint on the ends of the three knobs has been removed. Please don't let these flaws detract from what is otherwise a very nice used set of precision tools. The dial indicator has a range of 1.000" and a resolution of .001". The dial spins easily without any hesitations and always returns to "0". The magnetic base has and a few nicks and dings suffered from normal use. The magnet turns on and off easily with just a turn of the lever. It sticks solidly to any flat steel surface. Everything slides around easily and locks down tight wherever you want it to. The fine adjustment feature helps setting your indicator up a breeze. This set up has a vertical reach of approximately 23" and a horizontal reach of about 12".
