Description: Here is an extremely rare unique piece from the collection I think you’ll like. To some historians, the Mecca and Murad college sports cards (along with T206 & Old Judge) are among the first ever. As a matter of fact, the T51 Murad Willams card is considered the very first basketball card, ever; its rarest large version is in the frame above. The frame was professionally done years ago and passed down from one generation to the next before it ended up in my hands. Each card is unaltered and sits in the frame under friction, without adhesive. Each card (46 cards) is in beautiful condition—one may consider mint for the age. The leather journal is the other unique piece you’ll get. There are over 420 cards glued to the pages of the journal/business record. My imagination runs wild thinking of the individual carefully gluing each card to the page at the turn of the century. And it remains intact to this day, eager to start the next chapter of its existence with someone else. The journal is dated 1903, making this unique item over 120 years old. In it, you will find a nice mixture of the Murad and Mecca series sports cards, as well as other cards from various cigarette companies. Contents of the collection: Journal: Mecca T218 ATHLETES T51 Murad College sports and other Vintage 420 cards Frame: 46 Murad T-6 / T 51 Cigarettes College Series Sports Trading Cards The cumulative value of just the Murad and Mecca sports cards exceeds $3000, but I am letting both go for $2000 firm. Thank you for looking!
