Description: The Carpenters - Christmas Portrait Vinyl LP Record Club Edition Record grade: VG Sleeve grade: VG+ Examined under bright light I can see a few light marks and light hairlines visible under bright light. During playback I could hear occasional light surface noise, mainly audible during quieter passages and between tracks. “Merry Christmas, Darling” has a slightly raised mark that ticks lightly throughout the first minute or so of the song—not every rotation during that segment has a tick. The record has been VPI cleaned and it sounds just fine. There is also a small storage warp that does not affect play. The jacket has a small stain (pictured) neat the spine. There’s also some very light soiling near the edge that opens and a tiny crease near that same edge. The custom inner sleeve has a heavily folded corner. This is the RCA Music Service Club edition of the LP. To my ears, it sounds exactly the same as any other release. I’m offering this at a low price due to the condition issues I’ve described above. ———— I grade LPs based on a conservative interpretation of the Goldmine standard. This means that a VG+ record is in very nice shape and should have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. A record with sustained surface noise will be at best a VG. All records are play-graded since not all surface noise can be detected visually. All records are shipped in new Whiplash mailers with cardboard backing with the sleeved record outside of the jacket to prevent seam splits. Below is more thorough info on my grading system: NM: Surfaces essentially look new. This is the highest rating I give used records. VG+: Very nice shape. May have a few stray very light hairlines and/or light paper scuffs visible under bright light. Will have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. No feelable marks. VG: Has hairlines and/or paper scuffs and has audible surface noise particularly between songs and during quieter passages. G+: Has more pronounced hairlines and paper scuffs and may have a few small feelable marks, but still no skips.
