Together, they make up NHS Protects Research Unit, which carries out research to support evidence-based policy-making on a wide range of counter fraud and corruption issues. Both have academic backgrounds in International Relations. Clare Fletcher has a keen interest in transparency and accountability issues, particularly as in relation to the management of public services. She has skills and experience in policy research, analysis and evaluation, having worked for a number of organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors in the UK, across a broad range of multidisciplinary policy areas. Clare graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MA in Political Science Research Methods and a BSocSc in Political Science and International Studies. Daniela Herrmann has a keen interest in international anti-corruption research, coupled with skills and experience in policy analysis, evaluation and advocacy. Before joining NHS Protect, Daniela has worked with the UN Development Fund for Women in Beijing and with parliamentarians in Westminster and Brussels.
