Description: The Red Book by C.G. Jung A portable edition of the famous Red Book text and essay. FORMAT Imitation Leather LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Publisher Description The Red Book, published to wide acclaim in 2009, contains the nucleus of C. G. Jung s later works. It was here that he developed his principal theories of the archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the process of individuation that would transform psychotherapy from treatment of the sick into a means for the higher development of the personality. As Sara Corbett wrote in the New York Times, The creation of one of modern history s true visionaries, The Red Book is a singular work, outside of categorization. As an inquiry into what it means to be human, it transcends the history of psychoanalysis and underscores Jung s place among revolutionary thinkers like Marx, Orwell and, of course, Freud. The Red Book: A Reader s Edition features Sonu Shamdasani s introductory essay and the full translation of Jung s vital work in one volume. Notes A full translation of Jungs vital work by Sonu Shamdasani, together with a full introductory essay, in a portable, readers edition. Author Biography Born in 1875, C. G. Review "The book is a remarkable blend of calligraphy and art; an illuminated manuscript that bears comparison with The Book of Kells and William Blake." Guardian.co.uk "Its true importance, however, will be to the western intellectual tradition as a whole." New Scientist "...a magnificent facsimile edition.." Salley Vickers, The Times "Now edited by Sonu Shamdasani, this is an exquisite facsimile. Jungs pioneering work on dreams and associative creativity comes to fulfilment in this intensely personal and revelatory study." Classics Christmas Round-up 2009 The Times Review Quote "This is a volume that will be treasured by the confirmed Jungian or by admirers of beautifully made books or by those with a taste for philosophical allegory." -- Michael Dirda (Washington Post) Details ISBN0393089088 Author C.G.
