These trees stay green most of the winter. The trees do well in both sun and shady areas. They require little to no maintenance and produce fruit most every year. Although the fruit is edible, it is very tart and requires a lot of sugar for lemonade or marmalade. The thorns are extremely strong and about 2" long.
