Description: This piece of Turritella Agate was in my father's collection of rough materials that were awaiting their turn to be cut and polished. The piece weighs about 186 grams and measures roughly 101 X 82 X 9 - 18 mm. My photos show the stone both dry and wet (the photos showing it in a pie tin show the stone wet) so you can see what it might look like when it has been cut and polished. With his PhD in mineralogy, my father loved to collect rocks. He took great pride in his mineral collection which he carefully organized by chemical groups. Since he recently passed away I'm tasked with finding his treasures a new home. I still have loads of rocks and rough material to re-home so I'll be posting more of my father's rock collections (rough material, cut stones, pendants, mineral specimens, and other rock related items) off and on for months so do make my store one of your favorites and check in often to see what new items are listed.
