Description: Maker: This pair of charmingly naïve handmade and hand painted salad plates is by the well-known ceramics firm Ceramica Pinto. Vincenzo Pinto produced works of ceramic art in his Vietri Sul Mare, Italy, studio beginning in 1910 and the company is still in business today. On the back of both plates is the handwritten PV Italy mark (for Pinto Vietri) and the pattern number 06414. Design: The vividly painted set features a delightful rooster at the center and a band of scrolls against a white background. Size: The plates are 8 1/8 inches wide and together weigh 1 pound 11 ounces. Condition: The plates are numbered in the photos. Both are in overall excellent condition with no marks, nicks, cracks, scratches, crazing, repairs or significant wear. Plate 1 has light discoloration on one side of the back. Plate 2 has several rust stains on the back from a metal plate hanger - this is shown in the photos with the red arrows. They also have the tiny pinpricks and irregularities that are typical of handmade Italian ceramics and part of their charm. Please check all the photos very carefully. They are an important part of the description.
