Description: This auction is for the Type 2 Sepia HOF plaque postcard of Napoleon Lajoie shown. Type 2 postcards were produced by the HOF from 1940-1943 and are significantly rarer than the Type 1 cards produced in 1939. I'm not sure if this is due to popularity or print runs, but any collector will tell you they are extremely difficult to find. Even the major auction houses rarely have offerings.
