Description: Up for sale: Vintage 2001 Enron Walking Liberty 1 oz Silver Dollar Encased Coin Rainbow Toning Rare Enron branded 1 oz. silver coin, these were made to be given out to top Enron company executives as Christmas gifts in 2001. The company fraud became public in October 2001 and these coins were never handed out, a few coins managed to slip through and they come up for sale every so often. The coins which were left in the original acrylic cases over time develop the wonderful rainbow toning, they are quite rare and command the premium prices. This coin comes with the original acrylic case and black presentation box. The coin shows beautiful rainbow toning and oxidation, please see all the close-up photos. Some of the polychrome printing of the Enron letters shows areas of flaking and loss, typical of the this type of printing process on silver. We were told this coin has never been removed from its acrylic case throughout all these years in storage. We used Nitrile gloves to handle the coin outside the case for photography as we wanted to capture the beautiful toning.
