Vintage 1980s Pinarello Montello 58cm ST 57cm TT red/chrome frameset

Description: Beautiful 1980s Pinarello Montello with SLX tubingAppears to be original paint and decals - from photos it looks like it could be a 1986Can visually verify slx rifling on seat tube and chainstays. The rifling is a bit harder to see in the downtube due to dust. Frame measures 58cm CTC for the seat tube and 57cm CTC for the top tube100mm front spacing, 126mm rear. 700c wheels. Bottom bracket and fork are Italian threaded Frame and fork have matching serial numbers (1Z432) which verify that they were original to each other.Has chrome seatstays / chainstays and fork. Beautiful pantographing on BB lug, chainstays, fork crown, front derailluer braze on, and drop outs.Top tube had internal cable routing. From what I understand, there is a internal piece of vinyl-coated copper wire that aids cable installation through the frame. The mavic headset is included. It is functional although will require regreasing. The rubber gasket that hides the locking lower has a tear and the rubber gasket might break. The upper locknut has some wear / scrapes from prior removal. The fork will be removed for shipping and the headset will be partially disassembled (but not pressed from frame).The bottom bracket has been re-faced with the 45 degree chamfer for a mavic bottom bracket. Please see my other listing for a (almost) complete mavic groupset that I was piecing together for this build that never happened. Notes on condition:Appears to be original paint and decals. There are various scrapes, blemishes, wear, and fade to chrome, paint, and decals. Most notable are:- wear to front and rear chrome dropouts including some rust especially on front right dropout. - Blemishes, wear, fade and minor pivoting of chrome on frame and fork.- Numerous nicks and marks through paint and occasionally through white primer on all tubes. - Variable wear and damage to all decals.- Some tire rub on inside of chainstays.- There is some debris in the frame and fork that can be heard when flipping the frame upside down. Spraying with a frame saver will likely help.- There is a small dent on the underside of the driveside chainstay (pictured).- There is an small area of damage to the chrome of the non-drive seatstay (pictured). Some chrome loss and apparent cracking of chrome shell. Steel appears and sound solid in the area. A overhead picture is included here to assess the stay. For it's age, frame is quite beautiful.I have done my best to inspect, photograph, and describe the general condition as accurately as possible. The frameset is being sold as-is. Please inspect all photographs for condition and reach out with any questions. For shipping: The fork will be remove and the headset will be partially disassembled for shipping. The upper and lower races will not be pressed from the frame. The headset will require regreasing and proper installation prior to use. The rubber gasket hides a lower locking portion that must used. The frameset will be professionally boxed for shipping. If bikeflights is used for shipping, I will update tracking accordingly. If any damage occurs during shipping, please document with photographs and save the box and all shipping material for contingent claim.
