Vintage 50s 60s Atomic Era Mirrored Shadow Box Shelving Mid Century MCM Modern

Description: Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a giant vintage atomic era mirrored shadow box wall hanging that was manufactured by the Carolina Mirror Corporation. Circa '50s / '60s. It is constructed of wood with a mirrored background and mirrored accent pieces along the edges. Color: Black. The shadow box has two small enclosed built-in planter boxes on each end (see photos). There are three shelves built into the center of the unit in front of the main large mirror, and one elongated bottom ledge - great for displaying small knick-knacks. There are two small metal hanging loops attached to the item. The back on the mirror panel is also stamped with the Carolina Mirror Corp. information, as well as the month Sept, but we cannot make out the date (see photo). This'll make a great addition to any mid century modern dwelling! Measurements: Approx. 57.5" wide x 28" tall x 6.75" deep. The two small top shelves each measure approx. 8" wide x 3" deep. The slightly larger middle shelf measures approx. 18" wide x 3" deep. The large bottom ledge shelf measures approx. 29.5" wide x 3" deep. Condition: Overall the shadow box is in structurally good condition for its age. The wood is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. Two of the thin mirror accent pieces on the left side are missing and need to be replaced (see photo) - any glass or mirror shop should be able to replace them efficiently and inexpensively. Some of the mirror accent pieces show light discoloration in areas, and some dulling - we have not attempted to clean or polish the item in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was received. The main mirror is in great shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. We are not 100% certain, but we think the wood was repainted at one point in time - the back side shows gold coloration (again, see photos). Aside from that, it displays nicely, functions as intended, and will make a statement that'll surely garner attention wherever it ends up.
