Description: Up for sale: Vintage 60s 70s MacDonald CE-206 Scanner Radio Receiver 30-50 148-174 MHz Japan 10-4 good buddy! Mid-century scanner radio receiver manufactured by MacDonald Instruments, made in Japan. The unit powers up when plugged in and the red leds light up with the buttons pushed. As there is no rear antenna all we hear is static, we are not set up to fully test the unit beyond the basic power-up. Check out the attached video for all the analog static action, this little unit looks great for a 60 year old piece of hardware! Cosmetically the receiver is in good vintage condition, the knobs and buttons all feel solid - please see all the close-up images. The exterior case shows marks, scratches, dirt and dust remnants, all typical of age and storage method. The original power cable is still pliable. The rear panel shows heavier signs of oxidation with surface rust spots and pitting, see the last 4 photos. As we place some of our items with film and television period productions (who value authentic patina, distress and age) we have left this unit in the original, as-found condition. The radio receiver could use a thorough cleaning if it is to be used and displayed in the home.
