Description: VINTAGE RARE GREEK SILVER RING ARCHANGEL ST MICHAEL PANORMOS SYMI DODECANESEMultisized sterling silver ring marked 925 ΑΦ 18, depicting the famous Orthodox icon of ARCHANGEL ST Michael in Panormos of Symi island and inscribed in Byzantine Greek " Master Saint Michael the Panormitis" in the Panormos of Dodecanese island of Symi. There is the Holy Monastery of Taxiarchos of Panormitis. The story goes that a woman found the icon of Michael Panormite and took it home. But the next day the image disappeared and he found it in the same place. He picked her up again, but again she disappeared. So after she was very sorry, the Archangel Michael visited her in her sleep and told her that he wished to stayin Panormos, where the Holy Church was later built, which has the shape of a single-aisled basilica, has a double cross roof and forms two cross vaults inside. Entering inside, on the right side is placed the large image of Taxiarchis Panormitis, which is a precious treasure for the island of Symi and many people visit it to worship it.
