Description: I have finally got around to disposing of some of the tools I inherited from my Father 35 years ago. This is a very nice, very large WW2 German Mauser adjustable spanner. It was till recently a exhibit on the "tool wall" in my shed. Each Mauser machine gun was supplied with a "Waffenmeisterwerkzeugkasten" - Armourer's tool kit. These kits included everything necessary to maintain the gun. Many of the tools were specialised items for setting and adjusting gun sights etc. Some were more every day items such as files and hammers. The adjustable spanner useful for everyday purposes and a number survive as separate items. Very few full kits survive and are valuable items of militaria. My dad picked this one up in the 1950s at a military surplus store in Norfolk. It is In very good condition. Finished with a coat of Machine wax.
