Vintage Roland Edirol PR-80 Realtime Video Presenter with DV-7 DL Pro Expansion

Description: This is a purpose-built video editing computer that has the ability to capture SD video from both analog RCA jacks as well as FireWire video inputs. You can use that footage in a playback mode, or in a video editing mode where you can mix multiple layers of video, as well as titles. The whole thing is surprisingly real-time, but there is some rendering with the titles. This device is fully functional but is being sold AS-IS, as this is an old computer and an old hard drive. This is almost the highest end unit that was possible to buy. This unit has multiple additional cards installed that give more features and more inputs and outputs. If you quit out of the video editing system, you can interact with the base operating system, which is BeOS, a really interesting operating system from around Apple's Mac OS 9 era. BeOS was great at playback of video, and so it's fitting that it was used to build a device like this. I tried out some BeOS apps, and the one main one that I left on is Blender, the 3d modeling and animation software.
