Description: Vintage South Bend Bamboo Spin Fishing Rod Model X469 7’0” This is a vintage two piece South Bend bamboo spin fishing rod. Model # X-469. The rod is 7’0” in length and weighs 4.8 oz. Light action design for all purpose fresh water use. Rod will handle 4-8 lb. test monofilament lines and lure weights of 1/8-1/2 oz. Rod dates post WWII and from the late 1940’s or early 1950’s. Rod has a 12” cross cut specie cork grip with two black sliding aluminum bands for the reel seat and an aluminum winding check. The rod has five (5) stainless steel spinning guides and a Carboloy tip top. Ferrules are nickel silver, rolled, welted, and serrated. Guide wraps are orange black variegated nylon. Blade is straight and without flaw. Finish on bamboo is nicely done and with only a very few nicks. Specie cork has been cleaned. Rod has been cleaned and guide wraps have been refreshed with a premium grade glass rod varnish. The wrap at the female ferrule has been replaced. Rod packs in a two compartment cloth rod bag enclosed in a Browning aluminum rod storage tube with brown plastic screw cap. Will ship UPS Ground Advantage.
