It was originally called Emmons Home Fashion, and Charles named the company after his wife, Caroline Emmons Stuart. The company changed its name to Sarah Coventry in 1957. The jewelry produced by Sarah Coventry was unique because it was sold exclusively at home jewelry parties. The company recruited women to sell the jewelry as independent contractors, which helped to grow the business quickly. Sarah Coventry jewelry was very popular throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The designs were known for being bold and bright, and the pieces were made using high-quality materials. Despite its success, Sarah Coventry closed its doors in 1984. Today, Sarah Coventry jewelry remains popular among collectors, and many of the pieces are considered to be collectibles.
