In 1779, he was appointed Barrack Master at the fortress of West Point, and served as Commissary General for Patterson's Brigade of Continental troops. After the war, he served as Surveyor General and Registrar of Deeds of York County, Massachusetts (now, in Maine), Justice of the Peace and County Treasurer.
