This was made as a fighting weapon but could be used as a utility knife too. These have a leather washer handle with a 7" bowie knife type blade. It is similar to the U.S. Navy Mark 2 knife. Overall, this fighting knife is in Fair - Good condition, considering its age and history. The pommel and guard are securely attached to the tang, however the guard has a very light wiggle, almost not worth mentioning. Both have moderate oxidation and scrapes. The remaining finish has started turning a darker gray patina color. The leather O-rings are securely attached with light compressions and scrapes. The leather has darkened with time. The knife appears straight and not bent. The spine, fullers and sides have moderate oxidation and scrapes. The blade's cutting edge has no nicks or dings and appears to have its original factory edge, however the edge has oxidation on it. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The remaining finish has turned a darker gray patina color. The left side ricasso is marked "KA-BAR", but no other markings are visible on the knife. Sheath is NOT included with this knife. This fighting knife will be a great addition to your WWII fighting knife collection, or a knife collection in general.
