Description: This Allegro is a very nice example of Yamaha's semi-professional model YCL-550.This model comes with an adjustable thumb rest. Aesthetically it is a fantastic instrument with sterling silver keys and gold posts. It's clear that this instrument has been taken care of- the plating on the keys, the corks and springs are all in excellent condition. If you look closely enough, you may find a small signs of use. For example, a couple of the gold posts have rubbed to a more silver color. As you can see from the photos it still looks really sharp.This Yamaha was just refurbished: completely disassembled and polished, all new Valentino pads were installed plus it was lubricated and the key height was adjusted so that it's ready to perform. I've found that often it's the small adjustments that make a big difference in how enjoyable an instrument is to play. I started playing clarinet 61 years ago and these days I restore clarinets exclusively. I've refurbished more than 1,200 of these Bb models, many of which were sold here on eBay. Therefore, you can check out the feedback from other happy customers and be confident that you're getting a quality instrument that plays great. I feel I've done my best to ensure this one fits that description. After testing, I found that this Yamaha does everything well- it plays easily from top to bottom and has an extremely resonant tone. The tone is enhanced by the excellent mouthpiece. This Allegro comes with a Concert mouthpiece by Jewel, which complements it very well. Also comes with new cork grease and a new reed.
